Another highly successful year for Cullybackey College was celebrated today with our annual Prize Giving event. The academic, sporting and musical achievements of our pupils were honoured and we couldn’t be prouder of all they have accomplished. More information and photographs to follow next week.
Junior SU had their first meeting this week. We had great fun chatting, eating chocolate and getting to know each other. The message today was to remember that God loves us all just the way we are. We’re looking forward to meeting again in two weeks time.
The new Year 13 students at Cullybackey College had a great time on their overnight induction trip to Jungle NI. The focus was on team work, camaraderie, and having lots of fun. Cullybackey College footballers were out in force again as they tackled a 200 minute football match in a bid to gather money for Tearfund. They managed to raise over £600 for the charity and a big thank you goes to them as well as the friends and family who supported them.
The Art Department opened its doors last Thursday, 21st June, to showcase the talented work and creativity of our A-Level pupils. Members of the Art department would like to send a special word of thanks to all parents, family, staff and pupils who attended and supported the work of our students.
Cullybackey College would like to extend a massive thank you to all members of the PTA for their hard work and dedication to raising funds for the school. They reached a staggering target of nearly £3000 this year and will generously contribute to the purchase of a new school sound system, help provide pupil support
The PTA, represented by their Chairperson Mrs Hanna, made a generous donation to the charity, Angel Wishes, this week which pupil Molly Taylor accepted on behalf of the charity. Molly’s involvement and dedication to this important organisation has already been highlighted this year when she sold badges to raise much needed funds to support people who suffer from severe conditions. The IFA 7 a-side Football festival was held recently at Mallusk playing fields with Cullybackey College’s girls coming out in force. This event was sponsored by Electric Ireland to promote Girls Football, with over 1400 Girls attending the event from all over Northern Ireland. 10A1 were the proud winners of the Coin Jar Challenge which the PTA ran this year. A grand total of £380.35 was raised by collecting coppers and small change, with 10A1 raising a massive £111.67.
