The RE and Learning for Life and Work departments arranged for Yr 11 to attend a talk this week on addiction by Mr Jackie Burke. Mr Burke’s addiction to drugs almost proved fatal and he explained to pupils how he escaped from his substance dependence to devote his life to helping others beat addictions. One pupil said his talk was ‘inspiring’.
