This year, a group of GCSE and A Level students within the History and Politics Department had the opportunity to visit France and Belgium. The purpose of the trip was to build on students’ knowledge of World War One, its impact and legacy.
Below is a summary of the events students engaged with whilst in France/Belgium:
Day 1
Excited year 11-14 History/Politics students jetted off to France early on the morning of April 14th. Later that morning/afternoon, students completed a guided bus tour of the main sites of Paris including:
Day 2
Day 2 included a trip to both parks of the Disneyland resort. The day concluded with the students taking in the fascinating firework display that brought the day’s proceedings to an end.
Day 3
Day 3 saw us moving to the Somme region for the Battlefield’s Tour.
Day 4
Our final day saw us visit the fascinating Flanders Field Museum in Ypres, Belgium followed by a visit to the European Parliament in Brussels.
