ROSS HOUSTON – TOP OF THE FLUTE PLAYING LEAGUE!

Ross is at the top of the flute playing league! At the tender age of 15, Ross is currently working on his FTCL Diploma with Trinity College London, having already been awarded the ATCL Diploma. These professional awards are of the highest level and it is a huge achievement to be performing at such a high standard, at such a young age. Earlier this term Ross took part in the ‘Big Flute Challenge’ in the Ulster Hall, where he had the privilege of working with Sir James Galway. So impressed was Sir Galway with Ross’s talent, he has invited him to attend masterclasses at his home in Switzerland!

Alongside this, in October, Ross attended auditions for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. This Youth Orchestra draws the most talented young musicians from around the UK. Not only was Ross successful in his audition, he has been invited to be principal flautist. With all Ross does, he will have a gruelling rehearsal schedule and so he has to work hard to balance his career as a flautist with his school work. We will continue to follow his progress with excitement, anticipation and pride.
