Sixth Form

Year 13 had a great time at their overnight induction trip to Jungle NI. The focus was on teamwork, camaraderie and fun. It was a tight competition but at the end of the day the green team were crowned champions.

Yesterday Cullybackey College welcomed back our sixth form students. College staff were delighted to meet our biggest ever sixth form and share with them our vision of creating opportunities for success.

Years 13 and 14 were recently involved in excellent and engaging workshops delivered by Orla from Ignite. Students looked at dealing with stress, pressure and the emotional challenges of exams. The students really enjoyed and benefitted from the workshops. A big thanks to Orla from Ignite.

Today is Safer Internet Day. As part of the Peer Mentoring Programme Sixth form students have been discussing with KS3 pupils how to be safe on the internet.

Mr Manson has sent home information in relation to the next stage of the Options process. Four of our year 13 students entered the Rotary Club Youth Leadership Competition. Following an interview process conducted by two local Rotarians, Suzannah Boyd was announced as the winner of the school stage. Suzannah will now represent the school in the next stage of the competition within the Ballymena area. Well done to all the

Sixth form students have volunteered as Peer Mentors to KS3 pupils. The programme aims to help junior pupils learn more about topics such as bullying, revision and mental health. Many thanks to all Sixth form students for getting involved.

In September 2020 the College will continue to offer opportunities for students to take a wide range of Applied and Academic A Levels.
