Democracy Week

Some of our Year 13 politics students traded the classroom for the Council Chambers this week to celebrate Democracy Week with the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. It was an action-packed afternoon that gave our students a front-row seat to how local government actually works. After a Q & A session with Lord Mayor Jackson Minford, students had a tour of council chambers followed by a mock council meeting. A brilliant event that saw Zack White act in his capacity as interim Lord Mayor and Jack Douglas take the seat of past pupil and current councillor, Christopher Jamieson. A massive thank you to Lord Mayor Minford and David Hume for a very informative, engaging and valuable afternoon.
