On Friday 21st June we held our ACTIV8 event for local P6 pupils.
Cullybackey College hosted over 600 Primary 6 pupils from local primary schools for a programme of interactive workshops and shows relating to PE, Maths, Geography, History and English. The aim for the day was to engage with P6 students and to allow them to experience a range of learning activities that will challenge them to think in different ways.
At Cullybackey College we pride ourself on our ability to build close working relationships with our local primary schools so that together we can create opportunities for the success of all of students. We already welcome primary school pupils into our school on a number of occasions through the school year and P7 pupils get the opportunity to join with us for a special STEM linked INOV8 day in January.
Each subject element involves some aspect of active learning so that students have to move, run, walk, change position and take on new challenges!
In the process, we hope that students get to know the staff and situation of Cullybackey College a bit better to help their transition to secondary school in the future.
