Our Year 8 rugby squad competed in their first “Let’s Play” competition at Ballymena RFC today. With a quickfire four games in succession the squad grew in confidence and performance throughout the competition. A high scoring 6-3 loss was followed by a 3-2 loss against Abbey School. Game three saw the squad draw 1-1 with Dunclug before tiring in the final game against a well drilled Limavady team. Try scorers included Aaron Higgins (2), Harry Reid (2), Jamie Faloon and Harry McKeown.
Players to mention include Sophia Watson and Darcy Wilson who competed amongst the boys in superb fashion, whilst players of the tournament for Cullybackey went to Harry Reid and Thomas Cruikshank who were outstanding throughout. Our thanks go to Ryan McAuley from Ballymena RFC who has helped coach our boys this year as well as Ballymena RFC for the use of their pitches once more.
