On Thursday 13th June 2019, 4 pupils from Cullybackey College (Suzanna Cochrane, Conrad Martin, Lucy McKendry, Nicole Millar) and their teacher Miss Peacock joined 8 other schools who are part of the Ballymena Learning Together for a Junior Apprentice Competition.
The competition was designed to give young people with an aptitude for running business, the opportunity to develop their skills and experience in preparing for running a business, the opportunity to prepare a strategy, team working, negotiating, purchasing and presenting in a real life situation.
The pupils really enjoyed negotiating for discounts in local businesses and were especially successful in The Music Rooms where they negotiated a substantial discount if they agreed to promote The Music Room courses in school.
Our team were delighted to be awarded first prize for our presentation. We are very grateful to Michelin, Ballymena and Young Enterprise for the opportunity to take part and the £150 of items we were allowed to buy and keep for our school.
