Our Year 8 rugby squad competed in the latest Ulster Rugby blitz, held once again at Ballymena RFC. The boys and girls in this squad have came on leaps and bounds since the start of the year and this was clear to see in their game play. A mixed bag of results over the games saw some superb team play, tackling and forward movement, showing all the signs of great potential for future tournaments and fixtures. Games against Limavady, Sperrin, Slemish, Larne and Ballyclare were nothing short of entertainment. Tries were in good supply from Thomas Cruikshank who grabbed a brace, with Harry Reid, Lucas Taylor and Aaron Higgins also grabbing one apiece.
Special mention most go to the three girls in our squad this year, Darcy Wilson, Cara Ross and Sophia Watson. These girls were the only girls competing in the whole blitz, testament to their character and dedication to their sport. Best on the day for Cullybackey were Darcy Wilson, Aaron Higgins Cai Arbuthnot.
