On Tuesday 14th December Y13 Art and Design students were given the prestigious opportunity to meet Turner Prize winning artist Grayson Perry. Pupils have been participating in a project organised by the British Council examining the work of Grayson Perry and producing responses with a focus on issues of identity and social class. Cullybackey College was one of only 4 UK schools, and the only NI school, afforded the opportunity to take part. Each school was paired with a class from the Netherlands who pupils had the opportunity to see and hear from. Nikita McGregor volunteered to present her artwork in person to Grayson Perry, who in turn conversed about her ideas and thought process. The project was organised in conjunction as a celebration for Grayson Perry who this week was awarded the Erasmus Prize 2021 by the King of the Netherlands. This was such a wonderful experience for all of our young people. Further information on the project and images of all pupil’s work can be found below.
