Y13 Art & Design students visited ‘This Place’, an exhibition of work by local artist Bob Speers currently on show in the Braid Arts Centre.
Students has an opportunity to meet Bob, learn more about his work around Boglands, inspirations and processes before partaking in a practical workshop.
Moving the classroom to a gallery space, viewing artwork first hand and learning directly from and with an artist provides huge enrichment to students and strengthens their portfolios.
It was a lovely surprise to hear that Bob is a past pupil of Cullybackey College and how his school experiences of studying Art and Music shaped his life.
