Year 9 & 10 History students were recently involved in a fascinating WW1 workshop delivered by the Navan Centre & Fort. Students developed their knowledge and understanding of the causes of war, reasons why men joined the war effort from 1914 and also conditions in the trenches of the western front. Students also had the opportunity to handle a variety of weapons including amongst others, a WW1 Herman Pickelhaube helmet, a WW1 French Adrian helmet, a WW1 Brodie Helmet, an Enfield rifle, a Mauser pistol and a Mills resin grenade. A brilliant workshop that benefited the students immensely. A big thanks to the Navan Centre & Fort and our Year 9 & 10 historians for their excellent contributions.
