Over the course of the week junior school students participated in range of competitions in their English lessons.
Year 8 students created celebration bunting based on their favourite novels and stories as well as creating their own monsters after reading the poem “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll.
Year 9 students were given the task of creating a new cereal brand based on a novel or story they have read. A huge range of creative and imaginative cereal boxes are now on display in the English classrooms.
Year 10 students were tasked with creating a short story based on an extract from “The Scarlet Plague” by Jack London. There was a fantastic range of entries across the year group.
To celebrate World Book Day, we invited 6 winners from each English class to enjoy a pizza lunch where they received certificates and were praised for their fantastic work.
The English department finish the week with our Sponsored Read in aid of NI Cancer Fund for Children.
Thank you to all students for showing a great attitude in English this week.
