Year 9s bounced back from an opening day defeat to beat Dunclug College with a comprehensive 6-2 victory. It was a great performance from all 17 players involved – passion, commitment and hard work allowed the players to reach their potential.
Sam Rock (man of the match) was instrumental in defence ,alongside Daniel Lowry, whilst captain Isaac Wylie was given more freedom in the middle of the park to attack down the right and left flanks. Credit to Josh Nichol who had to be reserved at right back, after switching from midfield, allowed Harry McNeilly to push on down the right side. All four Year 8 boys stepped up to the mark with Scott Irwin once again reassured in between the posts.
Sam Rock bagged two goals from corners, whilst the impressive Luke McGaughey found some form to steal a great hatrick. Kenzie Meharg struck on his Year 9 debut to top off a dominant performance by the men in maroon.
