Amy & Hannah Robinson from Year 8 took to the pool to represent Cullybackey College in the All Ireland National Minor Schools Finals in February, held at the prestigious National Aquatic Centre in Dublin, home of Irish swimming.
The competition draws swimmers from all counties of Ireland. With Hannah and Amy being the sole representatives of their school at both at the regional qualifying back in October 2018 and again at the finals in February 2019, this was a great experience for them gaining valuable competitive racing experience on a very prestigious stage within the school swimming calendar.

Hannah Robinson
At the regional qualifiers back in October in Bangor, she entered the girls 11-12 years 50m Backstroke & 100m IM. Hannah placed 23rd overall in the 50m Backstroke, taking 4 seconds off her previous personal best & 12th in the 100m IM taking 14 seconds off her previous personal best and was a reserve finalist on the day.
At the National Finals in Dublin, she went on to swim another two very competitive and strong races in both 50m Backstroke and 100m IM swimming and moved up the rankings, a considerable achievement when you consider the number of competitors entered from across Ireland.
Amy Robinson
At the regional qualifiers back in October she entered the girls 11-12 years 50m Butterfly & 100m IM. Amy placed 16th overall in the 50m Butterfly & 22nd in the 100m IM.
At the National Finals in Dublin, she went on to swim another two very competitive and impressive races in both the 50m Butterfly and 100m IM.
Hannah and Amy showed great maturity and composer on the day, knowing they were at National Schools Final representing their school and did extremely well to qualify for these showpiece events.
