A group of year 10 History students recently visited the Somme Centre, Newtownards. During the educational visit pupils further advanced their knowledge and understanding of the current unit they are studying on World War One. During the guided tour pupils learned about the outbreak of the war, recruitment, conditions in the trenches, the Battle of the Somme and handled a variety of weapons used during World War One. An excellent day that had immense benefit to both pupils and staff.
