Y10 students who have expressed an interest in continuing their studies in Art and Design were given the opportunity to visit The MAC as part of the ‘Schools in Residence’ programme. Students were welcomed by Kira from the education team, who went on to give an overview of the current exhibition ‘The Lost Paintings’. Students were then given the opportunity to explore the works across all 3 gallery spaces, making written notes of their investigations and later creating visual responses. Hazelwood Integrated College, another of the schools involved in the project, were also visiting the gallery and all students worked creatively alongside one another. Moving the classroom to this space and working directly from an exhibition is invaluable in providing a real and rich learning experience.
