Monday 14th March is National Pi Day.
Pi Day celebrates the mathematical constant π (3.14). It is mainly celebrated in countries that follow the month/day (m/dd) date format, because the digits in the date, March 14 or 3/14, are the first three digits of π (3.14).
Cullybackey College are setting Year 8 -10 pupils the challenge to see who can recall the value of Pi to 100 decimal places.
In 2015, Rajveer Meena from India was able to recite Pi to 70,000 decimal places which took him 10 hours!
The competition will take place during Maths lessons the week beginning 21st March so there is a week to practice.
Videos are available online to help you practice.
Good luck!
