Maths Fun Day
Monday 25th June 2018 saw the Cullybackey College’s annual Year 8 Maths Fun Day; a day where pupils experience the application of maths to solve problems and apply their knowledge and understanding to logic. The pupils spent the morning working in different groups to solve various mathematical problems, such as using 2D shapes to make a football, using ICT to complete logic problems and solving a range of puzzles. The afternoon consisted of mathematical problem solving relay races and a table quiz which helped to burn off some energy and consolidate a fun day of using maths outside the classroom.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed these activities, developing their communication and social skills by working in teams, but also to under-pin their mathematical knowledge, often unaware they were even doing so.VIEW GALLERY
