Dear parent,
You might be aware that Strike Action was announced by the main teaching unions in NI for Wednesday 29th November. This will have an impact on our planned Christmas exams that week. Therefore we are planning a few changes:
- Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 will have their Exceptional Closure day on Wednesday 29th November instead of Thursday 30th November. The exams scheduled for Wednesday will take place on Thursday.
- Year 11 will continue to have their exams on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th November (with their exams on Tuesday being moved to the Boys Gym).
- Year 12 will have their exams moved from Wednesday 29th November to Tuesday 28th November; with their second day of exams remaining as Thursday 30th November.
- Year 13 and 14 exams scheduled originally for Wednesday have been rescheduled into sessions on Tuesday and Thursday.
- Friday 1st December remains as a school Exceptional Closure day.
On Wednesday 29th November the school is closed to pupils until 12 noon. Normal classes (for Y11 to Y14 students) will then run for the rest of the day – this is a Week 1 Wednesday. Years 8, 9 and 10 should remain at home.
All changes have been signposted in GREEN on the revisied Exam Timetable which can be found here.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused due to the strike action.
Pupils will also receive a paper version of the new timetable from their Registration teacher tomorrow morning.
Yours faithfully,
Mr T Manson
Vice Principal
