Our Year 11 football team were victorious in making the Mid-Antrim final last week, defeating Slemish College by three goals to two. Goals from Jayden Reid, Mark Cameron and Austin McAleese sealed the deal in a fantastic game of football, watched by a selection of pupils and staff.
It wasn’t all plain sailing for the boys. However, a fantastic attitude from the beginning of the day right through until the end of the match from each player was the difference. Despite conceding a last minute goal they held on for the win. They now await the winners of St Killian’s and Ballymena Academy in the final.
It was a case of so close but so far for our Year 9 team against Parkhall College in their semi-final. On a perfect day for football, they raced into a storming two nil lead through Codi Wilson and Lucas Scott. However, Parkhall changed things in the second half in a very tight contest, coming out 4-2 winners in the end. Superb performances were put in by all players but particular mention must go to Codi Wilson, Reece Gordon and Harry McKeown who epitomised everything good about our performance.
