Cody Lau had another successful year at the schools gala. He was 6th overall in the 400m free (1st place in the 15 year old group) 6th in the 100m free and 6th in the 200m IM. This year Cody has already competed in the 2023 Irish National Winter Championships in Dublin. Cody dropped an amazing 40.86 seconds off his 1500m placing 12th out of 42 swimmers. He made the finals for the 200m IM and set a new PB in his 800m free, taking his time to 9:01:50.
Cody has been nominated for the School Sports Person of the year. Cody has made the Swim Ulster squad and is heading off to Swansea in March to compete. Cody has qualified for the McCullagh gala in Bangor which is extremely difficult times to achieve. This year Cody is working hard as he would like to get some European times. He balances school work, swimming and down time well and is a great kid.
Aimee continues to enjoy swimming with Ballymena Swimming club and at galas. She was pleased to achieve a PB at the Ulster Schools in her backstroke making her new time 1:30.49. She has another gala this weekend where she hopes to make a PB in her 100m Breaststroke.
