Steve McGall, Youth Worker in 1st Ahoghill Church, spoke at SU today. We talked about how Joseph in the old Testament trusted God, even when things in his life didn’t go to plan. We need to remember that God is in control and is working for our good and his glory.
Last week pupils from the Senior Scripture Union took part in an activity to encourage the staff in Cullybackey College. The pupils met to create chocolate KitKat treats with a verse from the Bible attached. These treats were then given out to members of staff in the school in the hope that they would bring
SU met for the last time this year to enjoy a Christmas Party, including lots of food, fun and games. We also discussed how a candy cane can remind us of Jesus and the Gospel message during this very special season. We hope to see everyone back at SU in the new year.
SU met today at lunchtime. Rachel and Bob from SUNI spoke to us about being afraid, and how we can be sure that God will give us strength and courage to do things, even if we are afraid.
Junior SU met again on Thursday and had a great time of fun, food and fellowship. With double the numbers this week, they clearly took the challenge of ‘bring a friend next time’ to heart! Junior SU had their first meeting this week. We had great fun chatting, eating chocolate and getting to know each other. The message today was to remember that God loves us all just the way we are. We’re looking forward to meeting again in two weeks time.
Scripture Union met again today at lunchtime. Andrew Dickson, Youth Pastor at High Kirk, was our guest speaker. We discussed what makes good friends and positive friendship groups. We thought about how, even though we are all different, God can help us to work together for good.
