Year 8 pupils who achieved excellent scores in the Timetables Rockstars Competition were presented with certificates this morning. This was in conjunction with Maths Week Ireland. Well done to everyone who took part. #numeracyrocks

Maths Week Ireland runs from 12th – 20th October. To celebrate, all KS3 pupils will have the opportunity to take part in the ‘Timestables Rockstars Competition’ which will run from Tuesday to Thursday. Get your login details from your Maths Teacher. Loads of prizes to be won!!

Year 8 had a fantastic Numeracy Fun Day on Tuesday. They worked together to use the Maths skills they have developed over the past year to win lots of prizes.

Wednesday 22nd May is National Numeracy Day. Numeracy is used in every subject and in everyday life. Year 8 pupils have been exploring different measurements and scales in Home Economics. #nationalnumeracyday

March 14 or 3/14 is celebrated as Pi Day because 3.14 are the first digits of pi. The record for reciting the most number of decimal places of pi was achieved by Rajveer Meena at VIT University, Vellore, India on 21 March 2015. He was able to recite pi to 70,000 decimal places. To maintain

Numeracy is important in all subject areas and in everyday life. All year 8 pupils have been given a Numeracy booklet which highlights how to support pupils at home.

KS3 pupils took part in an online times tables competition over 3 days. 8A3 came out as the top class in school who were rewarded with a class party. A special mention must be given to Sam Kerr and Kaleb Gaston who gained the most points overall. Well done to everyone who took part!

We are excited about the Times Tables Rock Stars Competition that will be running from Tuesday 17th to Thursday 19th October. Years 8-10 have got their login details and are ready for action. Loads of prizes to be won!
