Key Stage 3 Art Club have been busy taking inspiration from famous artists to create original works of art. Colour and composition were carefully considered. Fabric painting was the main technique explored with some additional mixed media embellishment.

Last week concluded the ‘Fashion Sense’ project completed with current Y14 Art and Design students, with an online panel discussion showcasing their work. Congratulations to our Y11 GCSE Art and Design students on completing Term 1 of their new course. As part of their studies they have explored composition through still life drawing. We look forward to seeing more great work from this wonderful class.

Year 14 Art and Design students enjoyed a busy and productive workshop on Wednesday 20th October learning the processes of Salt Etching and Drypoint printmaking with artist and facilitator Fionnuala O’Neill. The results of their work were outstanding and a credit to their efforts on the day.

Well done to our Year 13 Art students who have created excellent individual and group drawings with different media during their expressive drawing workshop!

Year 8 pupils have spent this year learning all about the elements of Art and Design, line, tone, colour, shape, form and texture. This foundation stage is essential and as they move through KS3 pupils will build upon these skills. To conclude their work on Colour, inspiration was taken from the artist Kandinsky, working with
