The Year 9 Hockey team played the first round of the Ballymena League against rivals Slemish on Wednesday 17th October, with an incredible win of 5-0. The girls started off the game well, with lots of energy and determination. This showed in the game as they spent most of the match in the Slemish half, constantly attacking. Year 8 star Elana McKay scored the first goal with Erin Hampshire and Shanefa Spiers both scoring two each.
The girls kept up their level of skill in the second half. Erin Hampshire was the star of the match as she scored two goals. Particular mention must go to Anna-Grace Donnelly and Kirsten Perry, as they worked tirelessly in midfield and defence.
An excellent match, with superb team work from the all the girls. Well done!
