Two Cullybackey pupils Austin McAleese (Year 9) and Ewan Clarke (Year 10) were invited with their families to attend the Schools Bible Project prizegiving in London last week. Both pupils won top prizes in this national writing competition, this included money prizes for the school, book prizes and travel expenses paid for the trip.
To enter this competition, pupils were required to select and carefully study a Bible passage from the wedding at Cana, Christ calms the storm at sea, the raising of Lazarus, angels announce the birth of Christ or the resurrection. Pupils then had to write about the event in their own words, from an eye-witness perspective.
Well done to both boys for this fantastic achievement and thanks to the organisers for a very informative trip, this was an amazing opportunity for both boys who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
