Y10 pupils who have expressed an interest in pursuing Art & Design at KS4 were invited to take part in the MAC Schools in Residence programme on Friday 28 February.
34 pupils travelled to the MAC, accompanied by Mrs Andrews, made the gallery spaces their classroom for the day.
Pupils were given the freedom to explore the building and current exhibition, ‘I See His Blood Upon The Rose’, meeting gallery staff and an artist.
The impact of experiencing artwork first hand as opposed to an image on a screen is unmatched.
For most this was their first visit to then venue and it is hoped that this encourages them to visit again.
This opportunity was made possible with funding received from the Freeland’s Foundation.
